Michael S. Goldberg
Chief Investment Officer - Inspirit Senior Living
President - Inspirit Capital
Michael Goldberg serves as Chief Investment Officer of Inspirit Senior Living and President of Inspirit Capital, the company’s investment, asset management, and capital markets division. He also serves on Inspirit’s Board of Managers. In these roles, Michael plays a leading role in the company’s investment and growth strategy, with responsibilities spanning acquisitions, asset management, capital formation, financing, portfolio strategy, and institutional capital relationships. He works closely with Inspirit’s senior leadership to align these activities with the company’s broader operational and strategic objectives.
Michael joined Inspirit through its strategic combination with Venue Capital, the seniors housing investment and asset management firm he founded in 2018. Venue and Inspirit began partnering shortly thereafter, working together to acquire, finance, operate, and asset manage senior living communities across a growing portfolio. Their combination formalized a longstanding partnership and brought together Inspirit’s operating capabilities with Venue’s investment, asset management, and capital markets expertise.
Michael has more than two decades of experience in institutional real estate investment, finance, and seniors housing. Prior to founding Venue Capital, he served as Chief Investment Officer of Care Investment Trust, where he was responsible for the company’s investment activities and helped oversee a portfolio of 42 healthcare properties prior to the company’s sale in 2018. Earlier in his career, Michael held positions at Credit Suisse and CIT Group, where his experience included real estate investment banking, principal investing, lending, and capital markets. Michael received a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Investment from the NYU SPS Schack Institute of Real Estate.
Michael believes that the strongest seniors housing platforms combine exceptional operations with disciplined investment strategy and prudent capital allocation. This philosophy guides his approach to investment, asset management, and growth at Inspirit.
